Drain well and reserve the syrup:
- 1 jar (8.8oz) Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup
Cut each flower in half and set aside.
In a small saucepan, add:
Bring syrup to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and cook until the syrup is reduced by 1/3 or it coats the back of the spoon. Remove from heat.
Slice into ¼" thick slices:
- 1 small (8oz) wheel of brie cheese
Slice diagonally, ¼" thick:
Spread evenly on a flat dish:
- 3/4 cup sliced almonds, with skin
Top each baguette slice with a piece of brie. Press the brie firmly onto a bread slice then flip it face down into the almonds. Place each crostini, cheese/almond side up onto a baking sheet.
Bake in a 450°F oven for 3 to 5 minutes until the brie is soft, bread is crispy and the almonds are toasted.
Top each slice with half a hibiscus flower and drizzle lightly with the thickened hibiscus syrup.
Garnish with fresh thyme or snipped chives.
Serve immediately.
